 - improve fixdep to coalesce consecutive slashes in dep-files

 - fix some issues of the maintainer string generation in deb-pkg script

   several tools and linker scripts

 - clean-up modpost

 - allow to enable the dead code/data elimination for PowerPC in EXPERT
