epoch, rather than days since 1901.  This makes

  DateTime(float(d))==d

their normal names.

as an offset in seconds from the epoch.  This means that

  DateTime(float(d)) != d

where d is a DateTime.  This inequality often held before, or worse,
the above expression would often raise an error.

even if it might not be valid input to time.gmtime.
