The problem is that some DDL statements (ALTER TABLE, CREATE TRIGGER, FLUSH TABLES, ...) when under LOCK TABLES need to momentarily drop the lock, reopen the table and grab the write lock again (using reopen_tables). When grabbing the lock again, reopen_tables doesn't pass a flag to mysql_lock_tables in order to ignore the impending global read lock, which causes a assertion because LOCK_open is being hold. Also dropping the lock must not signal to any threads that the table has been relinquished (related to the locking/flushing protocol). The solution is to correct the way the table is reopenned and the locks grabbed. When reopening the table and under LOCK TABLES, the table version should be set to 0 so other threads have to wait for the table. When grabbing the lock, any other flush should be ignored because it's theoretically a atomic operation. The chosen solution also fixes a potential discrepancy between binlog and GRL (global read lock) because table placeholders were being ignored, now a FLUSH TABLES WITH READ LOCK will properly for table with open placeholders. It's also important to mention that this patch doesn't fix a potential deadlock if one uses two GRLs under LOCK TABLES concurrently. mysql-test/r/lock_multi.result: Add test case result for Bug#32395 mysql-test/r/trigger_notembedded.result: Add test case result for Bug#32395 mysql-test/t/lock_multi.test: Add test case for Bug#32395 mysql-test/t/trigger_notembedded.test: Enable test case for Bug#32395 sql/ha_ndbcluster.cc: Update close_cached_tables usage. sql/ha_ndbcluster_binlog.cc: Update close_cached_tables usage. sql/mysql_priv.h: Update close_cache_tables prototype. sql/set_var.cc: Update close_cached_tables usage and set flag to wait for tables with placeholders. This is one of the places where a GRL can be obtained. sql/sql_base.cc: Preserve old version for write locked tables and ignore pending flushes and update close_cache_tables to take into account name locked tables. sql/sql_parse.cc: Update close_cached_tables usage and pass flag so that name locked tables are waited for. sql/sql_table.cc: Protect the table against a impending GRL if under LOCK TABLES.

without PK Bug#31609 Not all RBR slave errors reported as errors bug#32468 delete rows event on a table with foreign key constraint fails The first two bugs comprise idempotency issues. First, there was no error code reported under conditions of the bug description although the slave sql thread halted. Second, executions were different with and without presence of prim key in the table. Third, there was no way to instruct the slave whether to ignore an error and skip to the following event or to halt. Fourth, there are handler errors which might happen due to idempotent applying of binlog but those were not listed among the "idempotent" error list. All the named issues are addressed. Wrt to the 3rd, there is the new global system variable, changeble at run time, which controls the slave sql thread behaviour. The new variable allows further extensions to mimic the sql_mode session/global variable. To address the 4th, the new bug#32468 had to be fixed as it was staying in the way. include/my_bitmap.h: basic operations with bits of an integer type are added. mysql-test/extra/rpl_tests/rpl_foreign_key.test: regression test for bug#32468 mysql-test/extra/rpl_tests/rpl_row_basic.test: changes due to bug#31552/31609 idempotency is not default any longer mysql-test/extra/rpl_tests/rpl_row_tabledefs.test: changes due to bug#31552/31609 idempotency is not default any longer mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_foreign_key_innodb.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_idempotency.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_basic_11bugs.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_basic_2myisam.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_basic_3innodb.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_mystery22.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_tabledefs_2myisam.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_row_tabledefs_3innodb.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/r/rpl_temporary_errors.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_idempotency.test: extenstions to the test providing testing of complements to the idempotent error set and checking how slave halts when it faces an error from the list when the mode is STRICT. mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_row_basic_11bugs.test: changes due to bug#31552/31609 idempotency is not default any longer. mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_row_mystery22.test: changes due to bug#31552/31609 idempotency is not default any longer mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_temporary_errors.test: changes due to bug#31552/31609 idempotency is not default any longer mysql-test/suite/rpl_ndb/r/rpl_ndb_dd_advance.result: results changed mysql-test/suite/rpl_ndb/r/rpl_row_basic_7ndb.result: results changed sql/log_event.cc: the fix for bug#32468 delete rows event on a table with foreign key constraint fails ensures the flags are set at proper time so that their values will be caught by innodb. reseting the flags is done along the common error and errorless execution path. The list of idempotent error is extended with foreign keys related items. NDB engine write events are designed with the replace sematics in mind. Therefore the corrsponding ndb handler's flag are (re)set regardless of the slave's execution mode. Rows_log_event::write_row() starts using the bool replace argument as its caller sets it depending on the event's execution mode. sql/log_event.h: adding a new member to hold the slave's mode during execution of the event. sql/mysql_priv.h: changes to link the command line option with the new global sys var. sql/mysqld.cc: introduction of the new command line option. providing its initialization to a default. changes to link the command line option with the new global sys var. sql/rpl_rli.cc: rli post-event-execution cleanup restores the default bits. sql/set_var.cc: The new "standard" sys_var_set class' and the new global system var related declarations and definitions. fix_slave_exec_mode() is used as with the update method of a new class so as at time of the command line arguments parsing. sql/set_var.h: new declarations. The class for the new global sys var is based on yet another new "standard" one. sql/share/errmsg.txt: slave_exec_mode setting error; slave inconsistency error which may be not an error when the intention is "idempotent". I.e consisting of row-based events binlog is being applied for the 2nd (more) time. sql/sql_class.h: The names for the bits of the new sever slave_exec_mode_options. mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_idempotency-master.opt: innodb is necessary mysql-test/suite/rpl/t/rpl_idempotency-slave.opt: innodb is necessary, as well as the tests start with non-default IDEMPOTENT slave execution mode.

Default values of variables were not subject to upper/lower bounds and step, while setting variables was. Bounds and step are also applied to defaults now; defaults are corrected quietly, values given by the user are corrected, and a correction-warning is thrown as needed. Lastly, very large values could wrap around, starting from 0 again. They are bounded at the maximum value for the respective data-type now if no lower maximum is specified in the variable's definition. client/mysql.cc: correct maxima in options array client/mysqltest.c: adjust minimum for "sleep" option so default value is no longer out of bounds. include/m_string.h: ullstr() - the unsigned brother of llstr() include/my_getopt.h: Flag if we bounded the value (that is, correct anything aside from making value a multiple of block-size) mysql-test/r/delayed.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/index_merge.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/innodb.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/innodb_mysql.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/key_cache.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/packet.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/ps.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/subselect.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/type_bit.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/type_bit_innodb.result: We throw a warning now when we adjust out of range parameters. mysql-test/r/variables.result: correct results: bounds and step apply to variables' default values, too mysql-test/t/variables.test: correct results: bounds and step apply to variables' default values, too mysys/my_getopt.c: - apply bounds/step to default values of variables (based on work by serg) - print complaints about incorrect values for variables (truncation etc., by requestion of consulting) - if no lower maximum is specified in variable definition, bound unsigned values at their maximum to prevent wrap-around - some calls to error_reporter had a \n, some didn't. remove \n from calls, let reporter-function handle it, so the default reporter behaves like that in mysqld sql/mysql_priv.h: correct RANGE_ALLOC_BLOCK_SIZE (cleared with monty) sql/mysqld.cc: correct maxima to correct data-type. correct minima where higher than default. correct range-alloc-block-size. correct inno variables so GET_* corresponds to actual variable's type. sql/set_var.cc: When the new value for a variable is out of bounds, we'll send the client a warning (but not if the value was simply not a multiple of 'blocksize'). sys_var_thd_ulong had this, sys_var_long_ptr_global didn't; broken out and streamlined to avoid duplication of code. strings/llstr.c: ullstr() - the unsigned brother of llstr()

doesn't recognize it This is a 5.1 version of the patch. Problem: 'log' and 'log_slow_queries' were "fixed" variables, i.e. they showed up in SHOW VARIABLES, but could not be used in expressions like "select @@log". Also, using them in the SET statement produced an incorrect "unknown system variable" error. Solution: Since as of MySQL 5.1.12 one can enable or disable the general query log or the slow query log at runtime by changing values of general_log/slow_query_log, make 'log' and 'log_slow_queries" to be synonyms for 'general_log' and 'slow_query_log' respectively. This makes expressions using the '@@var' syntax backward compatible with 5.0 and SHOW VARIABLES output to be consistent with the SET statement. mysql-test/r/log_state.result: Added a test case for bug #29131. mysql-test/t/log_state.test: Added a test case for bug #29131. sql/set_var.cc: Made the 'log' and 'log_slow_queries' system variables to be synonyms for 'general_log' and 'slow_query_log'.

doesn't recognize it This is a 5.0 version of the patch, it will be null-merged to 5.1 Problem: 'log' and 'log_slow_queries' were "fixed" variables, i.e. they showed up in SHOW VARIABLES, but could not be used in expressions like "select @@log". Also, using them in the SET statement produced an incorrect "unknown system variable" error. Solution: Make 'log' and 'log_slow_queries' read-only dynamic variables to make them available for use in expressions, and produce a correct error about the variable being read-only when used in the SET statement. mysql-test/r/variables.result: Added a test case for bug #29131. mysql-test/t/variables.test: Added a test case for bug #29131. sql/mysql_priv.h: Changed the type of opt_log and opt_slow_log to my_bool to align with the interfaces in set_var.cc sql/mysqld.cc: Changed the type of opt_log and opt_slow_log to my_bool to align with the interfaces in set_var.cc sql/set_var.cc: Made 'log' and 'log_slow_queries' to be read-only dynamic system variable, i.e. available for use in expressions with the @@var syntax. sql/set_var.h: Added a new system variable class representing a read-only boolean variable.

Buffer used when setting variables was not dimensioned to accomodate trailing '\0'. An overflow by one character was therefore possible. CS corrects limits to prevent such overflows. mysql-test/r/variables.result: Try to overflow buffer used for setting system variables. Unpatched server should throw a valgrind warning here. Actual value and error message irrelevant, only length counts. mysql-test/t/variables.test: Try to overflow buffer used for setting system variables. sql/set_var.cc: Adjust maximum number of characters we can store in 'buff' by one as strmake() will write a terminating '\0'.

Issue a warning if a user sets an option or a variable to a value that is greater than a defined maximum for the option/variable. This is for bug #29446 "Specifying a myisam_sort_buffer > 4GB on 64 bit machines not possible". Support for myisam_sort_buffer_size > 4 GB on 64-bit Windows will be looked at later in 5.2. mysql-test/r/variables.result: Fixed the test. mysql-test/t/variables.test: Fixed the test. mysys/my_getopt.c: Print a warning to the error log if a user sets an option to a value greater than the option's maximum value. sql/set_var.cc: Issue an SQL warning if a user assignes a value greater than the variable's maximum value.

Bug #27417 thd->no_trans_update.stmt lost value inside of SF-exec-stack Once had been set the flag might later got reset inside of a stored routine execution stack. The reason was in that there was no check if a new statement started at time of resetting. The artifact affects most of binlogable DML queries. Notice, that multi-update is wrapped up within bug@27716 fix, multi-delete bug@29136. Fixed with saving parent's statement flag of whether the statement modified non-transactional table, and unioning (merging) the value with that was gained in mysql_execute_command. Resettling thd->no_trans_update members into thd->transaction.`member`; Asserting code; Effectively the following properties are held. 1. At the end of a substatement thd->transaction.stmt.modified_non_trans_table reflects the fact if such a table got modified by the substatement. That also respects THD::really_abort_on_warnin() requirements. 2. Eventually thd->transaction.stmt.modified_non_trans_table will be computed as the union of the values of all invoked sub-statements. That fixes this bug#27417; Computing of thd->transaction.all.modified_non_trans_table is refined to base to the stmt's value for all the case including insert .. select statement which before the patch had an extra issue bug@28960. Minor issues are covered with mysql_load, mysql_delete, and binloggin of insert in to temp_table select. The supplied test verifies limitely, mostly asserts. The ultimate testing is defered for bug@13270, bug@23333. mysql-test/r/mix_innodb_myisam_binlog.result: results changed mysql-test/t/mix_innodb_myisam_binlog.test: regression test incl the related bug#28960. sql/ha_ndbcluster.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/handler.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/handler.h: new member added sql/log.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/set_var.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/sp_head.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} and saving and merging stmt's flag at the end of a substatement. sql/sql_class.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/sql_class.h: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/sql_delete.cc: correcting basic delete incl truncate branch and multi-delete queries to set stmt.modified_non_trans_table; optimization to set the flag at the end of per-row loop; multi-delete still has an extra issue similar to bug#27716 of multi-update - to be address with bug_29136 fix. sql/sql_insert.cc: thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/sql_load.cc: eliminating a separate issue where the stmt flag was saved and re-stored after write_record that actually could change it and the change would be lost but should remain permanent; thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt} sql/sql_parse.cc: initialization to transaction.stmt.modified_non_trans_table at the common part of all types of statements processing - mysql_execute_command(). sql/sql_table.cc: moving the reset up to the mysql_execute_command() caller sql/sql_update.cc: correcting update query case (multi-update part of the issues covered by other bug#27716 fix) thd->transaction.{all,stmt}.modified_non_trans_table instead of thd->no_trans_update.{all,stmt}

Bug#25422 (Hang with log tables) Bug 17876 (Truncating mysql.slow_log in a SP after using cursor locks the thread) Bug 23044 (Warnings on flush of a log table) Bug 29129 (Resetting general_log while the GLOBAL READ LOCK is set causes a deadlock) Prior to this fix, the server would hang when performing concurrent ALTER TABLE or TRUNCATE TABLE statements against the LOG TABLES, which are mysql.general_log and mysql.slow_log. The root cause traces to the following code: in sql_base.cc, open_table() if (table->in_use != thd) { /* wait_for_condition will unlock LOCK_open for us */ wait_for_condition(thd, &LOCK_open, &COND_refresh); } The problem with this code is that the current implementation of the LOGGER creates 'fake' THD objects, like - Log_to_csv_event_handler::general_log_thd - Log_to_csv_event_handler::slow_log_thd which are not associated to a real thread running in the server, so that waiting for these non-existing threads to release table locks cause the dead lock. In general, the design of Log_to_csv_event_handler does not fit into the general architecture of the server, so that the concept of general_log_thd and slow_log_thd has to be abandoned: - this implementation does not work with table locking - it will not work with commands like SHOW PROCESSLIST - having the log tables always opened does not integrate well with DDL operations / FLUSH TABLES / SET GLOBAL READ_ONLY With this patch, the fundamental design of the LOGGER has been changed to: - always open and close a log table when writing a log - remove totally the usage of fake THD objects - clarify how locking of log tables is implemented in general. See WL#3984 for details related to the new locking design. Additional changes (misc bugs exposed and fixed): 1) mysqldump which would ignore some tables in dump_all_tables_in_db(), but forget to ignore the same in dump_all_views_in_db(). 2) mysqldump would also issue an empty "LOCK TABLE" command when all the tables to lock are to be ignored (numrows == 0), instead of not issuing the query. 3) Internal errors handlers could intercept errors but not warnings (see sql_error.cc). 4) Implementing a nested call to open tables, for the performance schema tables, exposed an existing bug in remove_table_from_cache(), which would perform: in_use->some_tables_deleted=1; against another thread, without any consideration about thread locking. This call inside remove_table_from_cache() was not required anyway, since calling mysql_lock_abort() takes care of aborting -- cleanly -- threads that might hold a lock on a table. This line (in_use->some_tables_deleted=1) has been removed. sql/handler.cc: Moved logic for system / log tables in the SQL layer. sql/handler.h: Moved logic for system / log tables in the SQL layer. sql/lock.cc: Revised locking of log tables sql/log.cc: Major cleanup: changed how log tables are locked / written to. sql/log.h: Major cleanup: changed how log tables are locked / written to. sql/mysql_priv.h: performance schema helpers sql/slave.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/sp.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/sql_acl.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/sql_class.h: performance schema helpers sql/sql_delete.cc: log tables cleanup in TRUNCATE sql/sql_error.cc: Internal handlers can also intercept warnings sql/sql_insert.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/sql_parse.cc: performance schema helpers sql/sql_plugin.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/sql_rename.cc: log tables cleanup in RENAME sql/sql_servers.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/sql_show.cc: Move INFORMATION_SCHEMA_NAME to table.cc sql/sql_table.cc: log tables cleanup (admin operations, ALTER TABLE) sql/sql_udf.cc: open_ltable() lock flags sql/table.cc: Implemented TABLE_CATEGORY. sql/share/errmsg.txt: Changed the wording and name of ER_CANT_READ_LOCK_LOG_TABLE sql/table.h: Implemented TABLE_CATEGORY. storage/csv/ha_tina.cc: Moved logic for system / log tables in the SQL layer. storage/csv/ha_tina.h: Moved logic for system / log tables in the SQL layer. storage/myisam/ha_myisam.cc: Moved logic for system / log tables in the SQL layer. storage/myisam/ha_myisam.h: Moved logic for system / log tables in the SQL layer. client/mysqldump.c: Don't lock tables in the ignore list. By default MyISAM overwrites .MYD and .MYI files no DATA DIRECTORY option is used. This can lead to two tables using the same .MYD and .MYI files (that can't be dropped). To prevent CREATE TABLE from overwriting a file a new option is introduced : keep_files_on_create When this is on the CREATE TABLE throws an error if either the .MYD or .MYI exists for a MyISAM table. The option is off by default (resulting in compatible behavior). include/my_base.h: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create myisam/mi_create.c: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create mysql-test/r/create.result: Bug #29325: test case mysql-test/t/create.test: Bug #29325: test case sql/ha_myisam.cc: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create sql/set_var.cc: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create sql/sql_class.h: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create sql/sql_table.cc: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create sql/unireg.cc: Bug #29325: introduce keep_files_on_create

The value of "low-priority-updates" option and the LOW PRIORITY prefix was taken into account at parse time. This caused triggers (among others) to ignore this flag (if supplied for the DML statement). Moved reading of the LOW_PRIORITY flag at run time. Fixed an incosistency when handling SET GLOBAL LOW_PRIORITY_UPDATES : now it is in effect for delayed INSERTs. Adding support to allow engines to tell what formats they can handle. The server will generate an error if it is not possible to log the statement according to the logging mode in effect. Adding flags to several storage engines to state what they can handle. Changes to NDB handler removing code that forces row-based mode and adding flag saying that NDB can only handle row format. - The "mysql client in mysqld"(which is used by replication and federated) should use alarms instead of setting socket timeout value if the rest of the server uses alarm. cache by changing the behavior of the query cache resize-method. - set query_cache_size=<new_size>; is significantly faster than RESET QUERY CACHE as it simply destroys and recreates the query cache, whereas RESET QUERY CACHE keeps its internal structure aligned with server load profile. sql/set_var.cc: Refactored behavior of function. Instead of setting the global variable from within the class method scope we return the new cache size as a result of the method call. sql/sql_cache.cc: - Changed behavior of resize-method. The following type conversions was done: - Changed byte to uchar - Changed gptr to uchar* - Change my_string to char * - Change my_size_t to size_t - Change size_s to size_t Removed declaration of byte, gptr, my_string, my_size_t and size_s. Following function parameter changes was done: - All string functions in mysys/strings was changed to use size_t instead of uint for string lengths. - All read()/write() functions changed to use size_t (including vio). - All protocoll functions changed to use size_t instead of uint - Functions that used a pointer to a string length was changed to use size_t* - Changed malloc(), free() and related functions from using gptr to use void * as this requires fewer casts in the code and is more in line with how the standard functions work. - Added extra length argument to dirname_part() to return the length of the created string. - Changed (at least) following functions to take uchar* as argument: - db_dump() - my_net_write() - net_write_command() - net_store_data() - DBUG_DUMP() - decimal2bin() & bin2decimal() - Changed my_compress() and my_uncompress() to use size_t. Changed one argument to my_uncompress() from a pointer to a value as we only return one value (makes function easier to use). - Changed type of 'pack_data' argument to packfrm() to avoid casts. - Changed in readfrm() and writefrom(), ha_discover and handler::discover() the type for argument 'frmdata' to uchar** to avoid casts. - Changed most Field functions to use uchar* instead of char* (reduced a lot of casts). - Changed field->val_xxx(xxx, new_ptr) to take const pointers. Other changes: - Removed a lot of not needed casts - Added a few new cast required by other changes - Added some cast to my_multi_malloc() arguments for safety (as string lengths needs to be uint, not size_t). - Fixed all calls to hash-get-key functions to use size_t*. (Needed to be done explicitely as this conflict was often hided by casting the function to hash_get_key). - Changed some buffers to memory regions to uchar* to avoid casts. - Changed some string lengths from uint to size_t. - Changed field->ptr to be uchar* instead of char*. This allowed us to get rid of a lot of casts. - Some changes from true -> TRUE, false -> FALSE, unsigned char -> uchar - Include zlib.h in some files as we needed declaration of crc32() - Changed MY_FILE_ERROR to be (size_t) -1. - Changed many variables to hold the result of my_read() / my_write() to be size_t. This was needed to properly detect errors (which are returned as (size_t) -1). - Removed some very old VMS code - Changed packfrm()/unpackfrm() to not be depending on uint size (portability fix) - Removed windows specific code to restore cursor position as this causes slowdown on windows and we should not mix read() and pread() calls anyway as this is not thread safe. Updated function comment to reflect this. Changed function that depended on original behavior of my_pwrite() to itself restore the cursor position (one such case). - Added some missing checking of return value of malloc(). - Changed definition of MOD_PAD_CHAR_TO_FULL_LENGTH to avoid 'long' overflow. - Changed type of table_def::m_size from my_size_t to ulong to reflect that m_size is the number of elements in the array, not a string/memory length. - Moved THD::max_row_length() to table.cc (as it's not depending on THD). Inlined max_row_length_blob() into this function. - More function comments - Fixed some compiler warnings when compiled without partitions. - Removed setting of LEX_STRING() arguments in declaration (portability fix). - Some trivial indentation/variable name changes. - Some trivial code simplifications: - Replaced some calls to alloc_root + memcpy to use strmake_root()/strdup_root(). - Changed some calls from memdup() to strmake() (Safety fix) - Simpler loops in client-simple.c BitKeeper/etc/ignore: added libmysqld/ha_ndbcluster_cond.cc --- added debian/defs.mk debian/control - Queries in the query cache are identified by the individual characters in the query statement, the current database and the current environment expressed as a set of system variable flags. - Since the set of environment flags didn't properly describe the current environment unexpected results were returned from the query cache. - Query cache is now cleared when the variable ft_boolean_syntax is updated. - An identification flag for the variable default_week_format is added to the query cache record. Thanks to Martin Friebe who has supplied significant parts of this patch. mysql-test/r/query_cache.result: Added test case mysql-test/t/query_cache.test: Added test case sql/mysql_priv.h: - Added missing flags to reflect the significant local environment settings of the cached query. sql/set_var.cc: - Added query cache flush when system variable ft_boolean_syntax is updated since this also invalidates all cached result sets using this variable. sql/sql_cache.cc: - Added another local system variable as an identification flag for cached queries.

skipped): By moving statement end actions from Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() to Rows_log_event::do_update_pos() they will always be executed, even if Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() is skipped because the event originated at the same server. This because Rows_log_event::do_update_pos() is always executed (unless Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() failed with an error, in which case the slave stops with an error anyway). Adding test case. Fixing logic to detect if inside a group. If a rotate event occured when an initial prefix of events for a statement, but for which the table did contain a key, last_event_start_time is set to zero, causing rotate to end the group but without unlocking any tables. This left a lock hanging around, which subsequently triggered an assertion when a second attempt was made to lock the same sequence of tables. In order to solve the above problem, a new flag was added to the relay log info structure that is used to indicate that the replication thread is currently executing a statement. Using this flag, the replication thread is in a group if it is either in a statement or inside a trans- action. The patch also eliminates some gratuitous header file inclusions that were not needed (and caused compile errors) and replaced them with forward definitions. sql/item_func.cc: Including definition of MASTER_INFO. sql/log.cc: Including definition of RELAY_LOG_INFO since it is used in the file. sql/log_event.cc: Moving statement end actions from Rows_log_event::do_apply_event() to Rows_log_event::do_update_pos().
