## Mark snippet as spam **(FREE SELF)**
Administrators on self-managed GitLab instances can mark snippets as spam.
Prerequisites:
- You must be the administrator for your instance.
- [Akismet](../integration/akismet.md) spam protection must be enabled on the instance.
To do this task:
1. On the top bar, select **Menu > Projects** and find your project.
1. On the left sidebar, select **Snippets**.
1. Select the snippet you want to report as spam.
1. Select **Submit as spam**.
GitLab forwards the spam to Akismet.
