so we can merge io_apic_32.c and io_apic_64.c v2: Use cpu_online_map as target cpus for bigsmp, just like 64-bit is doing. Also remove some unused TARGET_CPUS macro. v3: need to check if desc is null in smp_irq_move_cleanup also migration needs to reset vector too, so copy __target_IO_APIC_irq from 64bit. (the duplication will go away once the two files are unified.) Signed-off-by:

o Modpost generates warnings for i386 if compiled with CONFIG_RELOCATABLE=y WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:find_unisys_acpi_oem_table from .text between 'acpi_madt_oem_check' (at offset 0xc0101eda) and 'enable_apic_mode' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:acpi_get_table_header_early from .text between 'acpi_madt_oem_check' (at offset 0xc0101ef0) and 'enable_apic_mode' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:parse_unisys_oem from .text between 'acpi_madt_oem_check' (at offset 0xc0101f2e) and 'enable_apic_mode' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:setup_unisys from .text between 'acpi_madt_oem_check' (at offset 0xc0101f37) and 'enable_apic_mode'WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:parse_unisys_oem from .text between 'mps_oem_check' (at offset 0xc0101ec7) and 'acpi_madt_oem_check' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text:es7000_sw_apic from .text between 'enable_apic_mode' (at offset 0xc0101f48) and 'check_apicid_present' o Some functions which are inline (acpi_madt_oem_check) are not inlined by compiler as these functions are accessed using function pointer. These functions are put in .text section and they in-turn access __init type functions hence modpost generates warnings. o Do not iniline acpi_madt_oem_check, instead make it __init. Signed-off-by:

o struct genapic contains pointer to probe() function which is of type __init. Hence MODPOST generates warning if kernel is compiled with CONFIG_RELOCATABLE=y for i386. WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: from .data between 'apic_summit' (at offset 0xc058b504) and 'apic_bigsmp' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: from .data between 'apic_bigsmp' (at offset 0xc058b5a4) and 'cpu.4471' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: from .data between 'apic_es7000' (at offset 0xc058b644) and 'apic_default' WARNING: vmlinux - Section mismatch: reference to .init.text: from .data between 'apic_default' (at offset 0xc058b6e4) and 'interrupt' o One of the possible options is to put special case check in MODPOST to not emit warnings for this case but I think it is not a very good option in terms of maintenance. o Another option is to make probe() function non __init. Anyway this function is really small so not freeing this memory after init is not a big deal. Secondly, from a programming perspective, probably genapic should not provide pointers to functions which have been freed as genapic is non __init and is used even after initialization is complete. There are some machines around (large xSeries or Unisys ES7000) that need physical IO-APIC destination mode to access all of their IO devices. This currently doesn't work in UP kernels as used in distribution installers. This patch allows to compile even UP kernels as GENERICARCH which allows to use physical or clustered APIC mode. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
