Non-PCI devices can use the entire 32-bit range, PCI dittos are limited to the first 64MiB. Also actually setup coherent_dma_mask. The patch has been verified on a board with 128MiB memory, one ipx4xx_eth device and a e100 PCI device. This patch fixes the following BUG: > kernel BUG at mm/vmalloc.c:1132! > PC is at vm_area_add_early+0x20/0x84 > LR is at add_static_vm_early+0xc/0x60 > > The problem is cns3xxx_pcie_init() (device_initcall) calls the "early" > iotable_init(). Instead of merely calling the PCIe iotable_init() from machine_desc->map_io(), this patch adds the required mappings to the main CNS3xxx mapping table. This means we don't convert .pfn back to virtual addresses in pcie.c. The size of the address space consumed for PCIe control is reduced from 96 MiB (6 * 16 MiB) to about 32 MiB (this doesn't include MMIO address space required by PCI devices): - Size of the PCIe "host" mapping is reduced from 16 MiB to 4 KiB. It's a PCI configuration address space for the local (on-chip) PCIe bridge. - Size of the "CFG0" mapping is reduced from 16 MiB to 64 KiB. It's for Type 0 Configuration accesses, i.e., accesses to the single device (with possible "functions") on the other end of the PCIe link. We really only need a 4 KiB page at 0x8000 (see the offset calculation in cns3xxx_pci_cfg_base()). There is still a potential problem with PCI bus numbers > 0xF, are they supported? - The code in cns3xxx_pci_cfg_base() and cns3xxx_pcie_hw_init() should be clearer now. - The maximum address space allocated for PCI MMIO is now correctly shown in /proc/iomem as 176 MiB (per each of the two PCI "domains" - previously only 16 MiB were reserved). The GPMC clock is derived from l3_ick. The simplest solution is to reference directly l3_ick to provide the GPMC fck in order to get correct timings. When arch/arm/mach-omap2/gpmc.c calls clk_get(..., "fck"), it will get a dummy clock and try to use it. As the rate is configured to zero, this will result in several divisions by zero, and misconfigured timings, with devices on the bus being lost in the La La Land. It is better to remove gpmc_fck from the dummy clocks, so that gpmc.c can fail gracefully. When an interrupt has become active on the INTC it will stay active until it is acked, even if masked or de-asserted. The INTC_PENDING_IRQn registers are however updated and since these are used by omap_intc_handle_irq to determine which interrupt to handle, it will never see the active interrupt. This will result in a storm of useless interrupts that is only stopped when another higher priority interrupt is asserted. Fix by sending the INTC an acknowledge if we find no interrupts to handle. When sending an SGI to another CPU, we require a barrier to ensure that any pending stores to normal memory are made visible to the recipient before the interrupt arrives. Rather than use a vanilla dsb() (which will soon cause an assembly error on arm64) before the writel_relaxed, we can instead use dsb(ishst), since we just need to ensure that any pending normal writes are visible within the inner-shareable domain before we poke the GIC. With this observation, we can then further weaken the barrier to a dmb(ishst), since other CPUs in the inner-shareable domain must observe the write to the distributor before the SGI is generated. This fixes bug introduced in 667a6b7a (regulator: max14577: Add missing of_node_put). The DTS parsing function returned number of matched regulators as success status which then was compared against 0 in probe. Device drivers can contain a list of of_device_ids, but it more than one entry will match, then the device driver may choose the wrong one. Commit 10535314, "match each node compatible against all given matches first", was queued for v3.14 but ended up causing other bugs. Commit 06b29e76 attempted to fix it but it had other bugs. Merely reverting the fix and waiting until v3.15 isn't a good option because there is code in v3.14 that depends on the revised behaviour to boot. This branch should finally fixes the problem correctly. This time instead of just hoping that the patch is correct, this branch also adds new testcases that validate the behaviour. This patch updates the CBOX PMU filters mapping tables for SNB-EP and IVT (model 45 and 62 respectively). The NID umask always comes in addition to another umask. When set, the NID filter is applied. The current mapping tables were missing some code/umask combinations to account for the NID umask. This patch fixes that. The current code simply assumes Intel Arch PerfMon v2+ to have the IA32_PERF_CAPABILITIES MSR; the SDM specifies that we should check CPUID[1].ECX[15] (aka, FEATURE_PDCM) instead. This was found by KVM which implements v2+ but didn't provide the capabilities MSR. Change the code to DTRT; KVM will also implement the MSR and return 0.
