This is not an issue by itself: HV_X64_MSR_REENLIGHTENMENT_CONTROL is a partition-wide MSR and it doesn't matter which particular CPU will be used to receive reenlightenment notifications. The only real problem can (in theory) be observed if the CPU whose id was acquired with smp_processor_id() goes offline before we manage to write to the MSR, the logic in hv_cpu_die() won't be able to reassign it correctly. VMbus ring buffer are shared with host and it's need to be accessed via extra address space of Isolation VM with AMD SNP support. This patch is to map the ring buffer address in extra address space via vmap_pfn(). Hyperv set memory host visibility hvcall smears data in the ring buffer and so reset the ring buffer memory to zero after mapping. The monitor pages in the CHANNELMSG_INITIATE_CONTACT msg are shared with host in Isolation VM and so it's necessary to use hvcall to set them visible to host. In Isolation VM with AMD SEV SNP, the access address should be in the extra space which is above shared gpa boundary. So remap these pages into the extra address(pa + shared_gpa_boundary). Introduce monitor_pages_original[] in the struct vmbus_connection to store monitor page virtual address returned by hv_alloc_hyperv_ zeroed_page() and free monitor page via monitor_pages_original in the vmbus_disconnect(). The monitor_pages[] is to used to access monitor page and it is initialized to be equal with monitor_pages_ original. The monitor_pages[] will be overridden in the isolation VM with va of extra address. Introduce monitor_pages_pa[] to store monitor pages' physical address and use it to populate pa in the initiate msg. Hyperv provides GHCB protocol to write Synthetic Interrupt Controller MSR registers in Isolation VM with AMD SEV SNP and these registers are emulated by hypervisor directly. Hyperv requires to write SINTx MSR registers twice. First writes MSR via GHCB page to communicate with hypervisor and then writes wrmsr instruction to talk with paravisor which runs in VMPL0. Guest OS ID MSR also needs to be set via GHCB page. Hyper-V needs to issue the GHCB HV call in order to read/write MSRs in Isolation VMs. For that, expose sev_es_ghcb_hv_call(). The Hyper-V Isolation VMs are unenlightened guests and run a paravisor at VMPL0 for communicating. GHCB pages are being allocated and set up by that paravisor. Linux gets the GHCB page's physical address via MSR_AMD64_SEV_ES_GHCB from the paravisor and should not change it. Add a @set_ghcb_msr parameter to sev_es_ghcb_hv_call() to control whether the function should set the GHCB's address prior to the call or not and export that function for use by HyperV. When code running on the VC2 stack causes a nested VC exception, the handler will not handle it as expected but goes again into the error path. The result is that the panic() call happening when the VC exception was raised in an invalid context is called recursively. Fix this by checking the interrupted stack too and only call panic if it is not the VC2 stack. When runtime support for converting between 4-level and 5-level pagetables was added to the kernel, the SME code that built pagetables was updated to use the pagetable functions, e.g. p4d_offset(), etc., in order to simplify the code. However, the use of the pagetable functions in early boot code requires the use of the USE_EARLY_PGTABLE_L5 #define in order to ensure that the proper definition of pgtable_l5_enabled() is used. Without the #define, pgtable_l5_enabled() is #defined as cpu_feature_enabled(X86_FEATURE_LA57). In early boot, the CPU features have not yet been discovered and populated, so pgtable_l5_enabled() will return false even when 5-level paging is enabled. This causes the SME code to always build 4-level pagetables to perform the in-place encryption. If 5-level paging is enabled, switching to the SME pagetables results in a page-fault that kills the boot. Adding the #define results in pgtable_l5_enabled() using the __pgtable_l5_enabled variable set in early boot and the SME code building pagetables for the proper paging level. The fix we agreed on in the end is to make this symbol selected by any driver using it, and then building it even for non-Arm platforms with CONFIG_COMPILE_TEST. To make this work on all architectures, the drivers/firmware/Kconfig file needs to be included for all architectures to make the symbol itself visible. In a separate discussion, we found that a sound driver patch that is pending for v5.16 needs the same change to include this Kconfig file, so the easiest solution seems to have my Kconfig rework included in v5.15. For 32-bit programs on 64-bit kernels, user space which supplies wrong MXCSR values is considered malicious so fail the sigframe restoration there.
